Arkansas water operator practice tests

Arkansas' drinking water operator exams are ABC's standardized tests: state committee minutes record that the Arkansas Department of Health 'converted all water license classifications to ABC's standardized tests,' and WPI's equivalency chart lists Arkansas Treatment and Distribution Grades I–IV as equivalent to the ABC standardized exams. Grade I is the entry grade and maps to ABC Class I. This page covers drinking water only — Arkansas wastewater's standardized status is not confirmed by any current official source, so we make no claim there. Start with a free 25-question sample.

This page covers drinking water only. Arkansas wastewater licensing (Classes I–IV, under the Arkansas Wastewater Licensing Committee) historically used a customized ABC exam — Class IV even carried state-specific questions — and while committee minutes show a switch to standardized exams was discussed, contract and consent issues left it unresolved and no current official DEQ source confirms standardized wastewater exams today. TradeQBank's wastewater banks are therefore not presented as covering an Arkansas wastewater exam. The Very Small System (VSS) drinking water license is likewise a separate exam our banks do not target.

Practice tests for other states

TradeQBank publishes a state page only where the state's own board confirms it uses the standardized WPI exams our banks are built to. Verified so far:

State facts checked October 26, 2026 against Arkansas committee minutes published by ADEQ (adeq.state.ar.us), WPI's ABC Examination Equivalency Chart (gowpi.org), and PSI's Arkansas candidate bulletin. Source: WPI — ABC Examination Equivalency Chart. If your state isn't listed, the banks still rehearse the national WPI Class I blueprints — but check your board's exam provider before relying on that.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Arkansas use the ABC standardized operator exams?

For drinking water, yes. Arkansas committee minutes record that the Department of Health 'converted all water license classifications to ABC's standardized tests,' and WPI's Examination Equivalency Chart lists Arkansas Water Treatment I–IV, Distribution I–IV, and VSWS as equivalent to ABC standardized exams; computer-based testing runs through PSI's ABC portal. For wastewater, standardized status is not confirmed by a current official source, so we make no claim.

What grade does a new Arkansas water operator start at?

Grade I, for both Treatment and Distribution licenses. Grade I is the entry grade and maps 1:1 to ABC Class I — the blueprint TradeQBank's Class I banks are built to.

Does TradeQBank cover the Arkansas wastewater exams?

No — honestly. Arkansas wastewater historically used a customized ABC exam rather than the standardized one, and no current official source confirms that has changed, so we don't sell our wastewater banks as an Arkansas wastewater match.

Is TradeQBank part of the Arkansas Department of Health or WPI?

No. TradeQBank is independent practice material built to the same published Need-to-Know blueprints. Licensing decisions are made only by the Department of Health and its committee.
